It had to be you!

On 5th of Feb 2010,  it was our calling to be able to cover both Ike & June's as well as Yvonne's friend, Tongling & Alex's wedding celebrations!

The day started great when I covered Tongling's family and  I had lots of cool images as well as lots of kids photos. The ragging was in great fun as the lads had to open 1 durian into half before they could step into the house and they been able to do so with much gusto! We also had a little treasure hunt with one clues hidden around the house to allow Alex to find the Key's to Tongling's room.

All this while both Alex and Tongling are a match for each other, both of them were laughing off at each other and there were so many photographs of them smiling and warming up to one another. This project took us quite awhile as  we enquired new hardware to be able to speed us up with our processing!

I see a perfect chemistry!

Boon Seng & Feeling, working hand in hand, in perfect harmony and its was a real joy shooting for them!

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to be working with the Ongs to create their bridal shoot. We started out a the wonderful Bench Resort Siloso and the staff was very patient and kind and open all doors for our shoot, unlike its neighbours, Capella from last year, whom basically told me off that we should not refer clients to them nor shoot any pre-wedding in their soil.

Boon Seng & Feeling had a great time, spending with me as we go around capturing its beautiful gardens and around their cool villas! We proceed to the Singapore National Museum to escape the swelling heat and capture some wonderful moments together.

Who is behind it? Owner and creator is 30-year-old Jacqueline Tan, a former marketing manager, who was frustrated at being unable to find any affordable evening gowns and cocktail dresses locally off the racks. Jacqueline and her husband then spoke to some friends in the US, who then put them in touch with some reputable designers in New York who were known for their quality gowns. She says: "The online platform is becoming an important channel for sales and marketing in retail. By having an online presence, it ensures that customers out there know about Starlet and are able to compare prices, especially if it meant investing slightly more in a dress.

"Allowing customers to buy online was a natural extension of the whole purchase experience."

Why the hype? Visit the site if you're the type to do your homework online before heading out to make your purchase. The website was launched in mid-December 2009 to cater to buyers who use the Internet for help with their purchases.
Jacqueline says: "We have had customers who bought a number of dresses from us because they liked the quality and modern style of the dresses. They helped us to spread the word to their friends and we often have customers calling to enquire if we can bring in certain styles for their upcoming galas."
And if response is good, she is also looking forward to showcasing her gown collection in the comfort of customers' home.

Windy Day

I have the privilege last month to be commission for Tingyi & Cheekong's bridal shoot at the Fullerton hotel and Botanical Gardens. Its was a warm sunny day and the wind was in full force as they aided as to some cool shots that was otherwise impossible to capture!
