Hi Clients to be! Here are some pointers to take care of to prepare your house for photography.
LIGHTS!
1) Try to ensure your light-bulbs, florescent tubes are of consistent throughout rooms. if your living rooms have 2 sets of lights, ensure that they are either warmlight or daylight. This is important as we have a problem when editing images. they will show the room as half yellow, half blue.
Do not use lights that are too "yellow". This cast can never be successful in correction. Applies to some streetlights and some banquet venues/hotel rooms as well.
2)If you only have a small mirror in your room, and if that mirror happens to be struck in your wardrobe, please forgo it. Normally it will be struck in a corner of your room where you will be behind the light and makeup artist needs a mirror to work in the morning.
Please buy a nice mirror frame (ikea) and you can shift around to more better light source around your room and near the windows if possible.
3)Gate-Crushing. If you favour this tradition, please ensure that your house unit has some form of light streaming to the side of your main gate. Flash may be use your main gate has no natural light. Another option is to either do the gate crushing at your hotel (nicer surroundings) or do it after 7.30am, where natural light will start streaming in.
CLUTTER
1) Clutter never fails to impress people, if possible close a room and move all the unwanted, unsightly items into the room. Always make the house as clean of clutter as possible.
2) This also means to hide your undergarments and loose clothing behind your doors into your wardrobe. We only like your wedding dress I guess, Haha! ( PS, We have seen enough bras already aahhhhh)
3)Gate Crushing. Do hide footwear as the main gate will to be sole focus point during the gate crushing. you dun want your Pradas and Jimmy Choos to get trounce along with the food/drinks dish out during the Gate Crushing. Lots of shoes are fighting the attention with your groom to be. Not attractive at all.
BALLROOM
Table Centre Pieces. Tall and large centre-pieces are very eye catching and impress the guests a great deal. However they also hinders with the table shots and must be kept away once this commences. The huge centre pieces also cuts up people from communicating across the entire table.
Group/ Table shots
As long as i remember, once you start, everyone will want to have a group shot taken with the couple. If you plan to only shoot group shots for the relatives, you plan to fail. Either all or nothing. Mingling with guests ensures that you have some time for each of them, photo taking table shots is like taking attendance sometimes, rushing from one table to the next.
more to add as I thinker of my mind.

By the Poolside
Last Saturday, I made my way to Goodwood Park Hotel for the 3rd time in March to cover the ROM ceremony of Jim & Thersea! Again the weather did not disappoint us and it was a smooth affair shooting a sunlit poolside with their family and close friends. I love it when families are so comfortable having us around. As for me, I try to minimize my kit to make myself blend in as effortlessly as possible.
Pipper's in the house!
Recently I have the pleasure to cover Annie & Darren's Wedding banquet in Goodwood Park Hotel. Its quite funny on the way as my last visit to recce the place was about 2 years ago. I actually told the taxi driver to go to Greenwood Park, Haha, Luckily the driver was smart enough to understand a blur like sotong photographer. This coverage makes my 2nd visit and I had a ROM just last Saturday so I have visited this beautiful place for the 3rd time this month.
vintage fantastic
Last Monday, I jumped out of bed excited and really to go to capture some sun, fun and to rub on magic from Brian & Janice!
They must be truly, deeply, right for each other! Their chemistry was just so perfect that I had very little to work them to. They made my work so easy! All I have to do is to find a nice spot to shoot, No posing required! Abby was an angel and a great friend to have and help out all the logistics for this shoot! A big thanks to you for making this a success! Now I'm so pumped up to shoot your wedding guys!
Vintage's fantastic, I say, shooting with films!
